Past few years have been a period of immense personal growth for me. I spent, and continue to spend, hours everyday reading articles, books, and watching videos that help make me a better person. The reading has gotten to a level that my browser’s bookmarks have crossed over 1000! So I decided it was time I shared whatever little ideas I had and try to add value to people’s lives.

Here are my top 5 reasons why you and I should start our own blogs.

  1. Because We are Selfish

I used to think that I’m a good writer, but now that I’m writing regularly, blogging is putting my skills to the test. Blogs can help us become a better writer. They can help us become a better thinker, and most importantly, give us an eye for details. You’ll find yourself observing things you never knew existed. As you grow and learn, you become more confident. Life takes on a whole new level of meaning once you start blogging.

  1. Blogs are Our Universal Mailbox

When we make someone’s acquaintance, we must give them a place where they can follow up with us. Websites are a great way to not only create a universal mailbox but also to brand and demonstrate ourselves. Think of it as public relations, or more precisely propaganda, that you’re running to further your own cause. Take me, for example. I want to be a serial entrepreneur which requires me to present myself to clients, venture capitalists, and various publics. I consider this website, among other things, a propaganda tool. So the next time I give out my business card to a potential client, he or she should be quite impressed just by the website’s sheer looks and depth of content. I understand that my use of the word ‘propaganda’ has a very negative connotation here. But in reality, it’s just a synonym for public relations.

  1. Sharing and Inspiring Feels Ridiculously Good

We all love to help out people. Be it relatives, friends, or even strangers. Helping out others is not actually a selfless act of philanthropy, but rather a medium to fulfill our inner, most selfish desire. You see, the joy of giving is priceless. And it is that joy that we seek the most. If you have ever given up your seat on a bus for an elderly gentleman or lady, you know what I’m talking about. But that’s just one person. Imagine how many lives you can touch if you do same online. Because why should giving be restricted to only material objects? It can very well be something intangible, something intellectual.

  1. Knowledge Should Never Be Withheld

I believe that knowledge and ideas should not be withheld but shared freely and discussed openly with a goal of mutual enhancement. The only way I can achieve this is by reaching a broader, global audience via this blog. I will be honest, I was a bit reluctant at first because I was scared of “what would people think?”. Thinking about the “why” of “why should I start a blog” made me realize that there is a high chance that most people will be discouraging me anyway, but hey, there’s only one way to find out and that’s by actually doing it.

  1. Starting a Blog is Easy and Free

The articles I write are mostly about personal development, entrepreneurship, productivity, health, and life in general. Basically, the things I like and know about. There are 7 billion people in this world and every single one of us is unique. Every one of us know or can do something that’s useful for others. YOU know that you know something that’s worth sharing. But your decision to not share it is equivalent to you having a wrapped present but not giving it. You may worry about the technicalities but you would be surprised to know that a website made on WordPress is free and actually has less functions that Facebook! I have plans to write about how I made this website but if you would like to know that in advance, just give me a heads up.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a musician, an artist, or an animal lover – you need to let others know who you are. Give blogging a shot and you’ll see that there is always more to learn.

With that said, welcome aboard to my website where:
